Item A batucada do Barro Vermelho e a valorização cultural(2023) Santos, Ana Paula Lima dos; França, Márcio Abreu de; França, Márcio Abreu de; Doria, Bruna Ferrari Machado; Valença, André Luiz SantosThis work aims to discuss the culture of batucada in the red neighborhood and the appreciation of local culture, observing the potential of batucada as content for the practice of cultural education in the municipality of Penedo, Alagoas. Addressing education and its role in culture, we take as a reference the batucada Milionários do Samba from the Santo Antônio neighborhood, known as Barro Vermelho. The methodology applied involves reviewing the literature on cultural education, documentary research on the history of batucada in Brazil and exploratory research on the batucada Milionários do Samba. Taking as a theoretical basis the distinction between formal and popular training processes, the research points to the possibilities of adapting educational practices in the municipality, so that they can encompass the culture of batucada, especially in basic education, with the aim of highlighting the characteristic of cultural manifestations. local areas of Barro Vermelho and their potential to strengthen identity bonds. It is concluded that the visibility of local cultural practices, via formal educational processes or based on local knowledge, also accentuates the identity ties of residents and contributes to the visibility of a cultural identity different from the municipality of Penedo itself.Item A inserção da educação ambiental no ensino de química: uma revisão bibliográfica(2026) Silva, Maria Nataline Ferreira da; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Pinheiro , Pablo; Morais , Marcos Batista deThis study addresses the importance of Environmental Education (EE) in Chemistry classes. Its general objective was to understand how Environmental Education has been incorporated into Chemistry teaching and, specifically, to identify the methodologies used to integrate EE and the most common scientific Chemistry contents addressed in connection with EE. To this end, a bibliographic survey was conducted in Qualis A journals in the field of Chemistry Education, according to CAPES classification, covering the period from 2020 to 2024. The studies were analyzed separately based on Bardin’s (2016) content analysis approach. The results indicated that Environmental Education can be integrated in different ways. The methodologies identified in the analyzed studies included expository and dialogical lectures, demonstrative experimentation, problem-based experimentation, contextualized exercises, games, seminars, research activities, questionnaires, and educational software. These findings demonstrate the diversity of approaches available to incorporate Environmental Education into Chemistry classes while still addressing curricular content.Item A prática docente em educação ambiental em São Luís do Quitunde-AL: limites formativos e limites estruturais(2025) Silva, Eric Santos Acioli da; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Campos, Juliano Mota; Soares, Tiago FerreiraEnvironmental Education (EE) constitutes an essential dimension of citizen training, although its school implementation faces structural and formative barriers. This paper presents a self- reflective experience report on teaching practice in the Environmental Education discipline, developed at a public municipal school in São Luís do Quitunde, Alagoas. The study's context is marked by the sugarcane monoculture in the Alagoas forest zone (Zona da Mata), a territory of social and environmental contrasts where pedagogical practice was exercised. The main objective was to analyze the environmental educator's performance in daily school life, identifying challenges, didactic strategies, and the impacts of initial training on pedagogical practice, from the perspective of Critical Environmental Education. The methodology adopted was qualitative and descriptive, based on the "Writing of the Self" perspective and operationalized through Participant Observation and field diary records. The results showed that initial training in Biological Sciences approached EE in a superficial and naturalistic way, which, added to the absence of teaching material and curricular guidelines at the researched unit, required autonomous and self-taught curricular construction from the teacher. It was observed that the students' literacy deficit demanded the adaptation of strategies, prioritizing audiovisual resources and gamification as critical mediation tools to overcome the barrier of written text. It is concluded that the effectiveness of critical EE still depends excessively on the teacher's individual effort to overcome work precariousness and graduation gaps, making the revision of licensure curricula and the implementation of public policies that guarantee material support and planning time urgent.Item Análise das metodologias utilizadas na educação ambiental no ensino da educação básica no estado de Alagoas(2024) Mendonça, Rayane Santos de Almeida; Almeida, Jacqueline Praxedes de; Pinheiro, Pablo; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Araújo, Limdemberg Medeiros de; Almeida, Jacqueline Praxedes deEnvironmental Education (EE) plays a fundamental role in promoting awareness and training environmentally responsible citizens. In the State of Alagoas, as well as in several other regions, EA has been the object of study and implementation in public and private schools. This article proposes a detailed analysis of the EE approach in these institutions, focusing on identifying the practices and strategies used to promote environmental awareness among students. Using state-of-the-art methodology, this study carried out a mapping and analysis of academic production related to EE, aiming to understand the approaches found and the gaps that exist in environmental teaching. In this context, scientific articles, Course Conclusion Papers (TCCs) and dissertations published online between 2013 and 2023 were analyzed, covering the practice of EA from Elementary to High School. 87 works were identified that address the topic of EA, including the carrying out of temporary projects or activities carried out over short periods of time, but also a gap in the continuity of discussions and the implementation of long-term projects.Item Análise de práticas de educação ambiental no ensino público: uma revisão bibliográfica (2019 a 2023)(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-11-16) Mendes, Martha Luz Rocha; Costa, Danielle de Lima; Costa, Danielle de Lima; Santana, Leyla Menezes de; Pinheiro, PabloEnvironmental Education is configured as a social practice that aims to promote actions that contribute to the conservation of the environment, which is of fundamental importance for mitigating socio environmental problems that are occurring more frequently over the years, thus affecting all forms of life existing on planet Earth. In view of this, the practice of Environmental Education actions in the school environment becomes increasingly necessary, as one of its objectives is the propagation of knowledge about the environment, also contributing to the formation of a new socio-environmental awareness. , enabling individuals to take actions that contribute to building a sustainable planet. Thus, the present article aimed to analyze Environmental Education pedagogical practices in Brazilian public schools, through a review of existing literature. To this end, a literature review was carried out on the topic in question, based on works that reported Environmental Education strategies in public education. Searches were carried out in the Capes Periodicals and Google Scholar database, from May to August 2023, in which works published between the years 2019 and 2023 were searched. Through these searches it was possible to identify some methodological strategies that are worked on in public education in Brazil. With this, it is also concluded that one of the main methodologies used by the authors of the respective articles consists of developing and applying projects in school institutions, both teaching and extension, that address the theme of Environmental Education. Thus, working with teaching and extension projects to develop Environmental Education actions in schools is essential, as the application of projects enables various themes involving environmental issues such as: recycling, importance of water, selective collection and environmental impacts are explored.Item Arte e sustentabilidade: uma experiência multidisplinar na escola(2024) Santos, Camila Salgueiro dos; Silva, Eurípedes Noberta da; Silva, Eurípedes Noberta da; Andrade, Vanda Duarte de; Francisco, Kleyse GaldinoEducation represents the means by which individuals achieve greater humanization, through values that contribute to the integral development of the person. and the acquisition of knowledge. It is configured as a means by which individuals can achieve a greater understanding of themselves and others, thus promoting humanization, guiding individuals towards a life in society. The scope of this work focused on the discussion about the relevance of promoting creativity in the educational process. The importance of cultivating creativity in pedagogical practices has been a topic of growing interest, as the fundamental role it plays in the cognitive, social and emotional development of students is recognized. Regarding the methodology used, a multidisciplinary approach was adopted, incorporating research and action with students from Colégio Leonor Gonçalves Peixoto (COOPEPE). Initially, specific soil care was undertaken, followed by the planting of medicinal seedlings and vegetables, culminating in subsequent stages of harvesting, donating and selling the cultivated products. The results achieved reflected significant gains in students' knowledge, environmental progress through the implementation of sustainable practices, and notable satisfaction on the part of management and teachers in the school environment, whose focus was to work in a sustainable way, using waste such as plastic bottles , furniture, tires and other waste, which would be deposited in any inappropriate space, which the students transformed into flowerbeds using art and creativity to transform these materials that would be “waste” into transformed utilitarian objects. In this context, it is hoped that the analysis undertaken in this study can serve as an enlightening guide and provide support for the development of more in-depth investigations on the topic in future academic works. The establishment of a horticultural plot, as a method of implementing environmental education, provides the school community with a deeper understanding of the surrounding environment, the importance of a healthy diet and appropriate soil management. It is necessary to stimulate the development of artistic and creative skills of those involved, and also to promote understanding of environmental issues, encouraging the adoption of environmental care practices in the daily lives of students and their families.Item Cartilha para construção e uso de horta pedagógica: educação ambiental e cultura alimentar nas escolas(2023) Bispo, Iére Barros; Lima, Maira Egito Alves de; Lima, Maira Egito Alves de; Barreto, Daniela Pedrosa; Costa, Danniellle de LimaEnvironmental education began to be inserted in Brazil in the 70's, with the National Common Curricular Base as an instrument of execution in formal education, confirming the relevance of socio-environmental issues. Among the various forms of application of environmental education, there is the use of booklets as didactic, illustrative and easy to understand material. For the present work, the theme selected for the booklet was pedagogical garden, a practice that has been increasingly used, for aggregating several areas and also showing the diversity of food culture. In this context, the objective of the article is to present methodological paths for the implementation of a garden in schools through a booklet, with emphasis on valuing food culture and bringing society closer to healthy foods. The methodology was based on literature review through bibliographic research and documentary research to obtain legal and theoretical support on the subject addressed, in addition to establishing criteria for the construction of the booklet. Given this, a booklet of 32 pages was built, which gathers information and guidelines for the implementation and use of pedagogical garden in schools.Item A contribuição da etnobiologia para o ensino de ciências: uma revisão sistemática de literatura(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-11-22) Oliveira, Mariana Tagino de; Gonzaga, José Paulo Feitosa de Oliveira; Gonzaga, José Paulo Feitosa de Oliveira; Santos, Eduardo da Silva; Rocha, Douglas Ferreira daEthnobiology is the study of knowledge and concepts developed by any culture about biology, contributing to the interaction of people and human groups with the environment. Furthermore, it understands the form of development of the most varied existing cultures, such as traditional communities, that is, rural, riverside, quilombola and indigenous populations, perceiving and conceiving the natural systems in which they are included. Its contribution to science teaching lies in the training of teachers, who are sensitive to cultural diversity for the development of social and planetary awareness. This relevance raised the question: What is the contribution of scientific publications on Ethnobiology, carried out in the northeast region of Brazil, to the teaching-learning of Sciences? The study aimed to carry out a qualitative analysis of works produced between 2018 and 2023 in northeastern Brazil, focusing on investigating the influence of Ethnobiology on the teaching-learning of Sciences. This study proposed to carry out a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which is relevant evidence for a specific intervention strategy, applying explicit and systematic search methods, critical evaluation and synthesis of selected information. 35 studies were found, where 12 were included and 23 excluded, and the discussion of the results wascarried out through works produced between the years 2018 and 2023 in northeastern Brazil. The descriptors used for the research were: science teaching; ethnobiology and science teaching; environment and ethnobiology, with the exclusion criteria being research not written in the official language of Brazil (Portuguese) and not available on the chosen platforms. In this way, they also showed the policies aimed at teachers regarding the culture of traditional communities, such as those of quilombolas and indigenous people, which were present in the teaching provided, not only in the science discipline, but throughout the school curriculum, where teachers innovate about their pedagogical practices, detecting that it is possible to affirm that Ethnobiology contributes to the process of continuing education. It is necessary to reflect on the teacher's relationship with scientific knowledge and their mediating role in this teaching, especially in their continued training, as a large part of the teacher's ideas are the result of their training.Item Crimes ambientais e a importância da educação ambiental em áreas de proteção ambiental: estudo de caso na APA da Marituba do Peixe(2023) Santos, Maria Larissa dos; Pinheiro, Pablo; Pinheiro, Pablo; França, Márcio Abreu de; França, Cynira Alves deWith each passing day it becomes more difficult to have an ecologically balanced environment, thus compromising the lives of people and that environment. This work was necessary to analyze the practice of environmental crimes in environmental protection areas (APA). Its objective was to analyze the commission of crimes in the last 3 (three) years in the APA of Marituba do Peixe in Penedo/Alagoas. This analysis was carried out using data made available by the Penedo/AL Regional Police Station, the Environmental Institute (IMA) and the Environmental Police Battalion, as well as the practice of environmental education in that location. A bibliographical analysis was carried out as it deals with material accessible to the public, laws, government websites, and the management plan of the aforementioned APA. This study revealed the practice of environmental crimes and the development of environmental education actions in the location of the aforementioned APA.Item Educação ambiental como ferramenta para redução dos impactos causados por ocorrências de inundações e alagamentos na cidade de Penedo (AL)(2025) Santos, Janaina Santana dos; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Machado, Bruna Maria Ferrari; Machado, Bruna Maria Ferrari; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Possa , Évelyn Márcia; Wanderley, Lucas Suassuna de AlbuquerqueThe present work addresses the need to use Environmental Education as a means to promote resilience and the prevention of socio-environmental disasters in the municipality of Penedo (AL). The study is motivated by the recurrence of extreme hydrological events, such as floods and inundations, which negatively impact the population, especially in areas of environmentally fragile occupation. Such occurrences are potentiated by anthropic factors, such as irregular waste disposal, disorganized occupation of floodplains, and the increasing impermeabilization of the urban soil, which compromise drainage capacity. In this context, the main objective consisted of producing didactic material (a booklet) to foster knowledge, promote risk perception, and provide the population with practical tools, but mainly to serve as a didactic resource for basic education teachers with preventive and resilience information. The methodology employed was characterized by bibliographic research of materials on extreme events and socio-environmental disasters, using the Canva Pro platform for the design and production of the booklet, which was named "Practical Guide on How to Protect Yourself from Disasters." The booklet was structured into sections that include: the conceptualization of the main elements, namely, floods, inundations, and disasters, identifying their causal factors; it establishes practical action protocols divided into phases: before, during, and after intense rainfall; addresses the importance of community actions; and disseminates the main means of communication and information about disasters. The booklet represents a concretization of Environmental Education, acting as an essential pedagogical resource for risk minimization and the construction of a culture of prevention and collective resilience in Penedo. It is expected to be adopted and disseminated by Environmental Education programs and the Civil Defense in the municipality.Item Educação ambiental e cultural e reaproveitamento da água: práticas sustentáveis para preservação dos recursos hídricos(2025) Ferreira, Antonio Carlos Silva; Silva, Aline Gomes Lamenha; Silva, Aline Gomes Lamenha; Christiano , Daniel; Limeira, VanessaFreshwater is an essential resource for life, yet its availability is limited and unevenly distributed, which highlights the urgency of conservation and rational use strategies. In this context, this study aimed to analyze how environmental education, considering its cultural dimension, can promote water reuse and support the sustainable use of water resources in school and community contexts. A qualitative approach was adopted, based on bibliographic and documentary review from academic and institutional databases such as SciELO, Google Scholar anda CAPES Journals, as well as the analysis of case studies and mapping of pedagogical materials. The findings indicated that the integration of critical environmental education into the school curriculum, supported by comprehensive teacher training and enhanced thorough the valorization of local knowledge, promotes increased awareness, the development of values, and the adoption of sustainable practices. The analyzed experiences demonstrated the technical and pedagogical feasibility of initiatives such as the reuse of graywater, rainwater harvesting, and the reuse of air-conditioning condensate, which contributed to reducing potable water consumption, saving resources, and promoting student protagonism. However, technical, cultural, institutional, economic, and regulatory barriers were also identified, hindering the expansion of these practices and highligthing the need for integrated public policies. It is concluded that the articulation between science, appropriate technologies, and cultural knowledge enables the transformation of information into habits and habits into a culture of sustainability, making schools and communities protagonists of a fair, resilient, and citizen-centered water transition.Item Educação ambiental em espaços não formais no município do Rio de Janeiro: características gerais e contribuições(2025) Silva, Julio Cesar Barreto da; Pinheiro, Pablo; Lima, Maira Egito Alves de; Albuquerque , Tiago; Pinheiro, PabloDespite significant advances in Brazilian municipal environmental management, with important legal milestones such as the National Environmental Education Policy, the literature indicates that Environmental Education (EE), in general, it is not properly applied in Brazilian municipalities. The implementation and effectiveness of its actions at the local level still face structural, financial, and political challenges, including the centralizing role of the State, which frequently prevents these actions from becoming permanent and fully integrated into public policies and the daily lives of communities. In this sense, using a qualitative methodology with an exploratory and descriptive theoretical approach, through an investigative bibliographic review, this research aims to identify and map the execution and application of EE actions, projects, and programs established in non-formal spaces (NFS) by the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Government (PMRJ) from 1986 to 2025. Secondarily, it seeks to identify the main characteristics of these activities, gathering contributions for the establishment of future EE actions. Twenty-four environmental education (EE) programs and/or projects in the National Forestry Region (ENF) developed by the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Government (PMRJ) were found, 20 of which are managed by its Secretariat of Environment and Climate (SMAC) and its Environmental Education Centers (CEA).The research revealed the importance of integrating local knowledge, public policies, and community participation, with the development and application of multiple and innovative projects and programs, some of which have been implemented for more than 25 years: the Refloresta Rio Program (started in 1986), actions of the CEA Nucleus (in 1995), the PEAR Program (in 1995), and the MonitorAr-Rio Program (in 2000). It also highlighted the broad engagement of the Secretariat of Environment and Climate and the Environmental Education Centers in EE actions developed by the PMRJ, envisioning partnerships with Non-Governmental Organizations and the active participation of civil society and, specifically, residents' associations.Item Educação ambiental no ensino de geografia: análise de teses e dissertações brasileiras (1996-2012) a partir do projeto EArt(2025) Cerchiaro, Vinicius Damaceno; França, Marcio Abreu de; França, Marcio Abreu de; Gomes, Carlos Marcelo Maciel; Santos , Breno BittencourtThis study analyzes academic production on Environmental Education in Geography teaching, based on theses and dissertations developed in Brazilian graduate programs and available in the EArte Project database. The research is characterized as a State-of-the-Art study with a quanti-qualitative approach and aimed to identify institutional, temporal, and geographical trends, as well as to analyze the themes, objectives, and methodologies present in the selected academic works. The documentary corpus consisted of 24 studies defended between 1996 and 2012, selected through specific filters related to the school context, the Geography curricular area, and teaching and learning processes and methods. The analysis of institutional data revealed the predominance of research conducted at public universities, especially in the Southeast and South regions of Brazil, as well as a higher concentration of master’s dissertations compared to doctoral theses. From a qualitative perspective, content analysis of the abstracts, grounded in Bardin’s framework, revealed the centrality of Environmental Education conceived as an experiential pedagogical practice, anchored in lived space and guided by a critical perspective. The findings also indicate the appreciation of qualitative and intervention-based methodologies, such as action research and case studies. In the context of artisanal fishing, environmental education contributes to the formation of critical and independent individuals. Artisanal fishing is a type of exploitation of fishing resources, it is done in a simple way with family labor and small boats. This type of exploitation, when carried out in a disorderly manner, can generate an environmental problem, such as the loss of biodiversity, which emphasizes the importance of environmental education in fishing. Thus, the objective of this work was to develop a booklet with easy-to-understand language on the importance of environmental education in fishing, focusing on conservation and preservation of the environment, for riverside dwellers and fishermen in the municipality of Penedo/AL. To this end, the work followed the steps: characterization of the study area and target audience; bibliographical research and definition of the topics covered in the booklet; preparation of the booklet. The target audience for the booklet are fishermen and riverside dwellers. It is noteworthy that these fishermen are not always found in riverside communities, and may be in quilombola communities, in conservation units, associated or not with fishing colonies. The informative booklet has the potential to improve subjects' understanding and awareness of certain content, and addressed the following topics: the importance of the riparian forest; the overexploitation of fishing resources and the irregular disposal of fishing equipment.Item Letramento ambiental: proposta interdisciplinar para abordar o descarte irregular de resíduos sólidos através de gêneros textuais(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-10-26) Pereira, Simone Moreira; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Francisco, Kleyse Galdino; Soares, Tiago Ferreira; Lima, Maira Egito Alves de; Silva, Aguimário PimentelThis article aims to present a proposal for a didactic sequence with interdisciplinarity between the subjects of Science and Portuguese Language, based on the theme “irregular disposal of solid waste”. It is believed that it is important to discuss the implementation of educational activities in a interdisciplinary and playful way. The use of reading and text production in contexts of social practice, understood as literacy (SOARES, 1998), in the context of environmental education must be understood as a work of environmental literacy (SOUZA, 2009). Fable textual genre serves as a stimulus for the discussion of topics of all kinds, especially environmental ones, and its inherent playfulness allows the application, reapplication and orderly implementation ofactivities towards the classroom.Item Metodologias ativas aplicadas às aulas de ciências da natureza para conscientização sobre a importância de preservação dos recursos hídricos(2023) Costa, Rafaela Ferreira da Silva; Silva, Selma Thais Bruno da; Silva, Selma Thaís Bruno da; Pinheiro, Pablo; Silva, Thais Tainan Santos daActive Learning Methodologies are innovative ways of educating, fundamental for interdisciplinary work, mainly focused on environmental education in the school environment. Environmental education is one of the existing tools for raising awareness and training the population about environmental problems. This work sought to use active methodologies in natural science classes in an interdisciplinary way, on environmental awareness and preservation of water resources in an elementary school in the final years of Taquarana/AL. The methodologies used were field classes, science fairs and practical classes. The field class took place with 7 9th grade classes, in the village where the dam is located, where water is collected to supply the urban area of Taquarana. Practical classes took place during the month of March in reference to World Water Day, in all 23 classes between 6th and 8th years, with the themes “Hydrological cycle and the importance of water for life”. The science fair was an interdisciplinary project, which addressed the theme of renewable energy with a focus on energy produced by hydroelectric plants. The methodologies proposed in this work allowed experiences on environmental issues working directly with the reality close to the student, leading them to rethink their stance towards the environment and awakening the desire to change their attitude with critical awareness and sustainable.Item Observação de aves como ferramenta de educação ambiental em unidade de conservação: cartilha na APA Marituba do Peixe, Alagoas(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-08-31) Xavier, Afonso de Lima; Lima, Maira Egito Alves de; Ferreira, Guilherme Ramos Demétrio; Pinheiro, PabloThe most varied audiences seek ways to get closer to the natural environment, so activities such as bird watching are highlighted, being used as environmental education tools, as they encourage discussions about environmental conditions and create a connection with nature. The APA of Marituba do Peixe, located in Alagoas, has a high diversity of species and ecosystems with great potential for conservation. Based on this, the present work aimed at the construction of a booklet as a didactic strategy, having as its theme the observation of birds in the APA Marituba do Peixe. For this, bibliographical and documentary research was carried out on the characteristics of the APA with a focus on the avifauna present there and theoretical elements related to the theme of the booklet and its construction, in addition to field visits in the region. In a country marked by sharp hydrological contrasts and increasing conflicts over water use, analyzing the curricular treatment of this topic allows an assessment of Geography’s formative capacity to engage with territorial realities. This study conducts a comparative analysis of the 27 curricular frameworks of the Brazilian states at both lower secondary (Ensino Fundamental II – EF II) and upper secondary (Ensino Médio - EM) levels, identifying convergences, gaps, internal contradictions, and mismatches with state-level hydrological conditions. The main objective is to map and interpret curricular contents related to hydrographic basins, water, and water resources, relating them to contemporary socio-environmental scenarios. Specifically, the study aims to identify the frequency and depth of references to the topic, classify dominant approaches (Environmental Education, Physical Geography, Territorial/Local Identity, or Water Resources Management), compare differences between educational stages, and confront these approaches with indicators such as water-use conflicts, hydrological criticality, and environmental degradation. Methodologically, the research combines documentary analysis of curricula with recent data from Atlas of Water Conflicts in Brazil (CPT, 2024) and National Water Agency (ANA, 2023). The results reveal strong heterogeneity among states and a recurring mismatch between hydrological criticality and curricular density. The study concludes that a significant gap persists between curricular policy and Brazil’s water-related challenges, highlighting the need for revisions that strengthen Geography’s role in fostering critical and territorially grounded environmental education.
