Item Alimentando o Futuro: um estudo de percepção sobre Alimentação Sustentável entre dois cursos superiores luso-brasileiros - Licenciatura em Educação Ambiental (IPB) e Tecnologia em Gestão Ambiental (IFAL-MD)(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2021-12-10) Costa, Juliana; Rodrigues, Maria José Afonso Magalhães; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9851612740399796; Dias, Sheyla Karine Barbosa de Macêdo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2777322313238567; Cezar, Vicente Rodolfo Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2400958571631287; Sgarbi, Victor Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8780753465531965The food production and consumption systems practiced in the world go against sustainable development, being a great fomenter of climate change, bringing serious consequences for the near future. Food security continues to be threatened by the severe climatic effects that are already affecting the planet Earth, and that will have consequences on the capacity to feed a population estimated at 9 billion people by 2050. It is urgent to think about food from the point of view of sustainability in order to have fairer planting systems that lead to environmental and social improvement. Sustainable food seeks to interconnect all the chains present in the food system and, in a more holistic way, to build a production and consumption system more environmentally friendly, as well as an economy that leads to social gain. Training professionals who understand the meaning of sustainable food and who can act in order to mitigate socio-environmental problems is consistent with what is proposed in the 2030 Agenda, thus contributing to a fairer society. Environmental management emerges as a way to understand the interrelationships present between man and environment and, through environmental education, tries to raise awareness of attitudes and behaviors that lead to social equity. This qualitative-quantitative descriptive study aimed to understand the level of perception of two sample groups of the environmental area regarding the theme of sustainable food. Students from the Environmental Education graduation program (N=23) of Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal and from the Technology in Environmental Management (N034), of Federal Institute of Alagoas, Brazil participated of the study. The methods used were bibliographic research and survey questionnaire with multi-item perception scale (Likert type). Through 30 statements it was possible to know the perceptions of the sample groups. The questions were focused on specific aspects of sustainable food such as meat consumption, use of fossil fuels, seasonality and monoculture planting, use of plastic, composting, consumption of water resources, concepts of socially fair economy and social equity, among others. Although, in general, the results show that students are enlightened on the subject, it is still necessary, in order to achieve environmental literacy, an increase in the level of understanding of the environmental interrelationships related to food. In this sense, it is reinforced the need to invest in the education of these future professionals so that they become awareness agents for the environmental impacts resulting from food, because in this way, they will be able to develop knowledge, attitudes and behaviors about the interrelationships between food and environment. Hence, it is proposed at the end of the work a continuation of the research in order to promote the creation of literature on the subject and thus contribute to the dissemination of the concept of sustainable food.Item Análise do desastre ambiental e seus impactos durante o fechamento do matadouro na cidade de Santana do Ipanema(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-11-16) Rocha, Ana Beatriz Souto; Santos, Maria do Socorro Ferreira dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1039898435623128; Gama, José Aparecido da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7413041757828843; Macedo, Sheyla KarineThe general objective of this work isto analyze the environmental impacts caused by the closure and restructuring of the meat market in the city of Santana do Ipanema. Knowing the impacts caused by the activities, a study was conducted to recover the history of this closure, due to the situation in which the necessary infrastructure was found for the correct disposal of the effluents generated, the waste is thrown directly into the Ipanema River, leading to bad smells, the turbidity of the water and the death of flora and fauna. After the intervention of the Integrated Preventive Inspection (FPI), the municipality and the health surveillance, the meat market was closed because they were not in compliance with the health surveillance standards and the commerce around the river (where due to human intervention building houses to border, a flood ended up causing the destruction of several houses) also causing harm due to the withdrawal of resources along with the disposal of effluents and the poor hygiene conditions of the place. The methodology used for the present study was descriptive and exploratory in nature. Initially with bibliographical research and, in the second stage, research on news related to the fact on reliable websites and an interview with the environmental secretary at the time, finally, we sought to identify the current reality of the market and its changes. The results of the study indicate that slaughterhouses carry out activities that generate a large volume of organic matter, making it essential for inappropriate disposal, given that the negative environmental impacts arising from such activity directly affect the well-being, health, population as well as one all. It is important to think that public authorities become indispensable in this process, being able to work with environmental education projects and that it must start from an early age at home, as well as providing opportunities for discussions of new forms, new projects and technologies for the adequate management of this activity, as well asthe implementation that ensures the appropriate disposal of the effluents in question.Item Uma análise dos incidentes com tubarões na zona metropolitana do Recife - Pernambuco(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2022-12-19) Santos, Erik Antonio Ferreira dos; Santos, Maria do Socorro Ferreira dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1039898435623128; Oliveira, Patrícia Emanuella Silva de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1853047784104747; Romero, Renato de Mei; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9857771457585862The construction of the Governador Eraldo Gueiros Industrial Port Complex, popularly known as Porto de Suape, in the 1980s, is considered by specialists to be the primary factor resulting from the incidents with sharks in the city of Recife (Pernambuco) and its metropolitan area. This work sought to explain the reasons that led to the associa- tion of these incidents with the construction of the port, discussing the environmental impacts caused by the construction of the port complex, the study also raises statistical data on the incidents and discusses characteristics and behaviors of the species iden- tified in the raids. An educational product was also developed, a profile on the social network Instagram, which has curiosities about the phenomenon and reinforces socio- educational prevention measures.Item Avaliação da qualidade da água das nascentes utilizada pelos moradores do povoado brejo dos vieira - União dos Palmares-AL(INSTITUTO FEDERAL DE ALAGOAS - Ifal, 2025-03-10) Silva, Eri Johnson Correia da; Silva, Dário Luiz Nicácio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1506941694331741; Bastos, Adelmo Lima; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6186-8856; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6125212623471598; Gama, José Aparecido da Silva; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9082-6564; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7413041757828843Water is a natural resource essential for the maintenance of nature and its ecosystems, highlighting its role in agriculture, industry, energy generation and preservation of the health of living beings. In Brazil, water analysis is regulated by Ordinance No. 2,914/2011 of the Ministry of Health, establishing permitted limits for human consumption. Many rural springs lack appropriate treatment, presenting high levels of contamination by pesticides, heavy metals and other pollutants. This study analyzed water from springs in the village of Brejo dos Vieiras, a rural area of the municipality of União dos Palmares in Alagoas, aiming to identify the quality of water in the region, proposing measures for the preservation and recovery of water resources used by the local population. The methodology of the National Health Foundation was adopted for collection and physical-chemical analysis of the samples. The parameters analyzed were: Hydrogen Potential (pH), Electrical Conductivity (EC), Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and presence of Chlorine, measured at 25oC. The analyses demonstrate fluctuations in pH, EC, DO and chlorine values among the different springs over time, which can be justified by the biogeochemical characteristics of the aquifers analyzed. The values obtained were in accordance with the standards established in Ordinance 2,914/2011; in Consolidation Ordinance No. 5/2017 and in CONAMA resolution No. 357/2005, suggesting that the water supplying the rural properties studied is within potability standards. However, it is crucial to carry out new long-term studies that allow a careful assessment of the quality of the water consumed in the region. There were no complaints regarding the supply (quantity) and quality of the water consumed, indicating efficient control and balanced distribution of water resources in the village. It is essential to emphasize that environmental and anthropogenic factors can cause changes in the quality standards of the springs. It is essential that the community maintains constant vigilance and preserves these water sources, ensuring the availability and health of these resources for future generations of the Brejo dos Vieras Village.Item Construção e caracterização de um dessalinizador solar usando tecnologias socioambientais em Marechal Deodoro-AL(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-04-27) Santos, Thiago dos; Silva, Dário Luiz Nicácio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1506941694331741; Gama, José Aparecido da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7413041757828843; Almeida, Glaudistone Ferreira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2765594406920221Water scarcity is a problem that has been worrying the world, considering that water is a necessary good for the survival of all life on earth. Brazil is a privileged country in terms of the abundance of this good, but its poor distribution ended up creating a problem for part of the Northeast region of the country, which suffers from long droughts and irregular rainfall during the year, and which is supplied with water from cisterns or water from artesian wells. Bearing in mind that these waters do not have ideal potability for consumption due to their high salinity level, there was a need to find viable solutions for residents of the northeastern semi-arid region. In this way, a solar desalination plant was built using materials from construction waste, and improvements were made to improve its efficiency. The desalinator presented excellent results regarding water treatment, reducing by more than 99% of the total solids present in the water, and with efficiency of up to 53.33% of desalinated water, being 32.81% more efficient than the results obtained in a study used as a reference.Item Desafios e perspectivas do programa merenda da terra: uma análise das dificuldades enfrentadas pelos agricultores familiares em Marechal Deodoro-AL(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-12-14) Lima, Carla Danielle dos Santos; Bastos, Adelmo Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6125212623471598; Silva, Pedro Guilherme Fernandes da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3844758515992699; Gama, José Aparecido da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7413041757828843Family farming plays a fundamental role in the environmental, social, and economic development of the country. Its importance is evident in the production of healthy food, job creation, environmental preservation, and promotion of local development. It is an essential sector in ensuring food security, sustainability, and quality of life for rural communities in Brazil. This work aims to identify the challenges and opportunities of family farming in Marechal Deodoro, Alagoas, through the Merenda da Terra Program. A qualitative case study approach was used, based on literature review of existing studies and direct observation in the study area. The collected data were analyzed and categorized according to the research objectives. The results and discussions showed that the Merenda da Terra Program is an important initiative to strengthen family farming in the region. The diversified production of crops, including tubers, legumes, and fruits, contributes to income and improvement in the farmers' quality of life. However, challenges such as lack of soil resources, inadequate water supply, and the need for incentives for youth participation in family farming were identified. As proposals, it is suggested to organize farmers into associations or cooperatives to strengthen representation and bargaining power, encourage youth participation in family farming, implement an efficient pumping system, and conduct soil analysis as a tool to improve crop productivity. It is concluded that family farming plays a fundamental role in food production and sustainable development, and that through public policies such as the Merenda da Terra Program, it is possible to strengthen this sector and overcome the challenges faced, ensuring food security, environmental preservation, and socioeconomic development.Item Diagnóstico dos principais impactos e aspectos socioambientais que ocorrem no município da Barra de São Miguel-Al(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2021-12-17) Alves, Eliziane Soares; Bastos, Adelmo Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6125212623471598; Silva, Pedro Guilherme Fernandes da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3844758515992699; Santos, Maria do Socorro Ferreira dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1039898435623128Understanding how the geographic space in which we live is being treated, with regard to sustainability, demonstrates the concern to mitigate negative impacts as well as potentiate positive impacts in the location. Thus, the objective of this research was to analyze the impacts and socio-environmental aspects resulting from both the use of basic resources in the municipality, such as water supply, intense consumption of electricity and production of solid waste, with regard to the form of occupation urban space by local residents as well as the adverse effects caused by tourist activity in the city. Therefore, the methods adopted as a scientific basis in this work were bibliographical and documental research. It is also important to say that the research is also characterized as an exploratory case study. Then, during the methodological procedures, photographic records were carried out to report the landscape and the possible environmental impacts on the environment, as well as on-site visits to check the days of the week that produce more waste in the city. It was observed that the most relevant economic activity for the municipality in question is linked to the tourism sector, since the arrival of people from different locations moves the local economy, adding 77% to the Gross Domestic Product of the region. Thus, it could be observed that there were significant impacts on the structure of the city. Thus, it was verified through documentary instruments, that during the high season, between the months of December and February, the water supply and energy consumption become compromised, according to the number of individuals in the place. It was also observed that the Niquim river, responsible for supplying the municipality, has been suffering from local pollution, in which a high level of Escherichia coli bacteria, above 800 (NMP) Most Probable Number, was verified through documentary analysis. In short, it is concluded that, community, businessmen, visitors, in short, the set of social actors involved in this matter must collaborate towards local sustainability, considering that all people enjoy their geographical space.Item Diagnóstico dos resíduos sólidos gerados no IFAL - MD, visando a conformidade da instituição com a política nacional de resíduos sólidos(INSTITUTO FEDERAL DE ALAGOAS - Ifal, 2025-02-24) Costa, Cláudio Pereira da; Fiori, Ana Paula Santos de Melo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2598153346850335; Dias, Sheyla Karine Barbosa de Macêdo; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1620-9717; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2777322313238567; Santos, Maria do Socorro Ferreira dos; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0910-3607; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1039898435623128This study aimed to diagnose solid waste at the IFAL Campus in Marechal Deodoro, where increased and diversified waste generation necessitates effective management to mitigate environmental and public health risks. A quantitative-qualitative methodology was employed in two stages between September and December 2024. The first stage involved in-loco analysis to determine the quantity, composition, and characteristics of waste at IFAL-MD. The second stage included questionnaires for the campus community. Waste characterization and gravimetry were performed across campus sectors to assess current management practices. Results indicated significant generation of rejects (43.7%), organics (25.8%), and recyclables (30.5%). Despite efficient maintenance, the Campus lacks a formal Solid Waste Management Plan, and recycling is inconsistent. The study highlights opportunities for improved waste separation and disposal. Consequently, the institution must adopt measures to enhance solid waste management practices for greater Sustainability.Item A Feira de ciências como espaço não formal de ensino: uma estratégia de ampliação de conhecimentos relacionados as ciências ambientais em Marechal Deodoro – AL(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2022-07-06) Rodrigues, Aline Lima; Fiori, Ana Paula Santos de Melo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2598153346850335; Bastos, Adelmo Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6125212623471598; Santos, Maria Socorro Ferreira dosIn 2019, the first edition of the environmental science fair was held face-to-face. As for the methodology of the work, this research is exploratory, given the scarcity in the production of specific works about the reverse logistics of the waste tire in the city of Satuba - AL. The results of the process in the municipality of Satuba, do not present actions aimed at environmental management, as well as they do not meet the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), where the requirements to meet this policy are: product life cycle, contaminated area, collection selective, reuse, final disposal, among others. It is recommended that the municipality pay attention to these needs and put them into practice, through activities and partnerships with tire repair shops, aiming at a better understanding of the environmental impacts caused by incorrectly discarded waste tires, a situation that puts at risk beyond the human health, the sustainability process in the sector. In situ conservation takes place within natural areas, especially in conservation units, and focuses on the delimitation of places with or without the direct presence of people. According to the laws, the management of these areas occurs in a shared way with several social actors, and among its main management instruments, the management plans and management councils stand out. The Costa dos Corais Environmental Protection Area (APACC) is a federal marine conservation unit for sustainable use. For its development, we used a quantitative and qualitative methodology based on the written record of the minutes of ordinary and extraordinary meetings (2011 to 2021) and management plans (2013 and 2021), which were read, filed and exploratory text- mining tools were applied. in order to help the interpretation and critical analysis of the texts. The present work aimed to evaluate the progress of the planning and management of the APACC, through its records of minutes and management plans. The survey results show us that over these 11 years, 70 institutions have been part of the management councils, 44 minutes and two management plans have been published. The management of this unit can be classified as participatory. We conclude that the general analysis of the words recorded in the minutes evidences the relevance of themes such as: environment, tourism, fishing and management. Despite the record of structural changes in the construction of management plans, such as the way they are planned and their zoning, the management plans analyzed have thematic consistency. The methods applied allowed obtaining information about governance, protection of natural heritage and socio-environmental development promoted by the management council of APACC.Item A inserção da educação ambiental nas séries finais do ensino fundamental em uma escola da rede municipal de Marechal Deodoro/Al(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-11-23) Chagas, José Cleberson Domingos das; Gama, José Aparecido da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7413041757828843; Melo Irmao, Jose Jenivaldo de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8372721245933365; Bastos, Adelmo Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6125212623471598We are currently experiencing an environmental and climate crisis, with effects that often escape our ability to perceive directly, but considerably increase the evidence that they can affect not only the lives of those who produce them, but those of other people, species and even generations. However, many anthropogenic actions threaten the maintenance of this natural wealth, compromising the balance ecological. In addition, the lack of knowledge regarding the species and their ecological functions further intensifies the concern inherent to the loss of species. Democratizing knowledge about species that have extinction risk is fundamental and urgent to prevent them from being eliminated. Thus, the present work aimed to provide a pedagogical tool, characterized as an interactive timeline, with the potential to enable the future user to know about the species Pauxi mitu, an endemic bird of Alagoas and extinct in nature, popularly known as Alagoas Curassow. The methodology was carried out through several stages. In the first stage of the research, data on Pauxi mitu were collected, such as the first mention of the species, first woodcut, general characteristics, taxonomic classification, habitat, main threats, conservation category of the species, ex situ conservation strategies and reintroduction. In the second stage of the research, the Genially tool was used, which made it possible to assemble the entire structure of the timeline, and the horizontal and historical model was chosen, where its progress is presented from left to right. In a complementary way, as an auxiliary tool for adapting images, the Canva application was used. As a result, an educational product was obtained, defined as an interactive and intuitive timeline, arranged in chronological order, presenting the dates and their respective events and illustrations, and with potential for a future application, which may contribute to a citizen posture in favor of biodiversity conservation.Item Percepções dos trabalhadores da cooperativa dos catadores de Marechal Deodoro: análise da qualidade do trabalho(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2022-12-21) Anjos, Artur Barbosa dos; Santos, Maria do Socorro Ferreira dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1039898435623128; Castilho, Fábio Francisco de Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1280124410024317; Lucena, Rodrigo de Melo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6095168056343998The present work aims to present the perceptions that the workers of the cooperative of collectors of recyclable materials of Marechal Deodoro have about the quality of the activities carried out by them. It is an action-research with quantitative and qualitative tools, the research was carried out through interviews and a questionnaire with the directors and the cooperative members, focusing on highlighting the difficulties faced in the process of cooperativism and the benefits existing with the activity, whether economic, social or environmental. The research shows that the environmental interest is becoming more and more a subject of worldwide importance, mainly for the economic favor, the scarcity of raw materials that are withdrawn without the proper replacement, the absence of public policies that have as objective the environmental preservation and the increase in the production of new products that, in their final destination, become a major polluting generator, especially when they are not intended for reuse or recycling. From the data collected, we noticed that there are several issues that involve the discussion of the quality of the work of the cooperative members, especially when seeking to meet the principles of cooperativism. The analysis presented here is quite pertinent to highlight the situations that can add positively to this work, allowing the cooperative a new look at what is essential, in search of sustainable development and the improvement of its activities.Item Perfil socioeconômico e sensibilização ambiental dos agricultores familiares do Assentamento Quinta da Serra no município de Viçosa-AL(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2022-07-26) Hora, Sivaldo Araujo da; Silva, Dário Luiz Nicácio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1506941694331741; Gama, José Aparecido da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7413041757828843; Bastos, Adelmo Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6125212623471598Unemployment and the increase of social inequalities have become a worldwide problem revealing that the capitalist production mode is outdated. The present work aimed to evaluate the socioeconomic profile and environmental awareness of family farmers of the Quinta da Serra Settlement in the municipality of Viçosa - AL, through the data obtained through the application of a structured interview where the participants informed about their socioeconomic aspects and environmental awareness. With the data obtained, the reality was traced for knowledge of the profile of these farmers facing these issues, because it is known that after unemployment, many of these workers are without work options to acquire family income. The results found indicate that these farmers have precarious social, economic, and human conditions, but they are all aware of the relevance of their profession for family farming. Without burning, deforestation, growing food without using pesticides, they contribute a lot to the production of healthy food in the municipality of Viçosa - AL. In view of this, it is possible to notice in the data achieved, that despite the social and economic complexity, the profession of family farmer has not been a choice but a matter of survival, in which this working class needs more attention from public authorities and society. Thus, we conclude that it is necessary to develop public policies and search for alternatives to improve the farming systems of the settlement under study, and to create projects that optimize the management of agriculture in the settlement, as well as the development of permanent educational campaigns, training of farmers so that they are treated with the same rights and duties as other workers.Item Os serviços ecossistêmicos proporcionados pela Resex Marinha Lagoa do Jequiá - Al(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2022-12-15) Cabral, Leonardo Santana da Silva; Bastos, Adelmo Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6125212623471598; Silva, Pedro Guilherme Fernandes da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3844758515992699; Gama, José Aparecido da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7413041757828843Ecosystems are natural systems that provide benefits to humans through ecosystem services. It is necessary to understand that this relationship occurring in a disorderly way can lead to imbalance and consequently negative environmental impacts by human actions. Thus, this research aimed to describe the ecosystem services according to the evaluation of the residents of the communities around the Lagoa de Jequiá Marine Resex, a conservation unit whose purpose of this category is to provide the sustainable use of natural resources to seek to understand the way ordering and interactivity between man and the natural ecosystem. In this research, agroup of residents was interviewed totaling 30 people, chosen according to the indication of the "SnowBall" method in which the members of this group answered semi-structured questionnaire regarding the importance of Resex and its natural components, on the environmental perception of aspects of relevance to the community as a whole. The data collected for analysis were structured using of statistics without parameters and in a qualitative way. From the identification model of the Common International Classification of Ecosystem Services (CICES) and there respective categories of provision, cultural, regulation and maintenance services, it was found that the Resex Lagoa de Jequiá provides a considerable range of ecosystem services such as: provision of fishing, water for diverse usufruct, source of biomass such as wood and fibers, resources for medicine, water and climate regulation, natural biological control, pollination processes, maintenance of biota, sociocultural interactions attributed to recreation, ecological tourism and the scenic beauties. The importance of Resex for the maintaining support for local communities, the regional ecosystem and its riches is remarkable, it is also necessary to implement additional tools to the management plan that promote effective actions from socio-environmental technologies provided by scientific studies for discussion in assemblies seeking improvements to reconciles the use of nature’s resources with environmental conservation, to mitigate environmental impacts in order to balance ecological functions, the social and economic environment, ensuring quality of life for current and future generations.j
