However, in their compositions they present highly toxic components called heavy metals, so when they are incorrectly discarded, they cause contamination in the environment and human health. Thus, this work aimed to show the impacts caused by the incorrect disposal of the same. The methodology involved research using articles, academic dissertations, journals and websites. A literature review was carried out between January and April 2022, in the following database: Google Scholar. With improper disposal, contact with moisture, water, heat and other chemicals is enough for toxic components to leak and mass contamination ensues. Taking as an example the environmental accident that happened in Bauru in 2002, where 314 children were contaminated by lead, causing blood lead and irreparable damage. In Brazil, there are currently some projects aimed at correct disposal, an example of which is recycling. In most treatment processes, a sorting takes place, with the aim of treating each type of electronic waste. This procedure (recycling) is promising and can be applied in serval places.Item Potencial energético dos resíduos gerados no setor sucroalcooleiro: uma revisão bibliográfica(2025) Santos, Vanessa Gonzaga; Gois, Georgia Nayane Silva Belo; Gois, Georgia Nayane Silva Belo; Barbosa, Amaury Franklin Benvindo; Souza, Felipe Thiago Caldeira deThe sugar and alcohol sector, responsible for the production of sugar and alcohol, generates large volumes of agro-industrial waste, such as bagasse, straw and vinasse. These byproducts, when properly treated and reused, have high energy potential, contributing to the sustainability of the sector and to the diversification of the national energy matrix. This article presents a bibliographic review on the main forms of energy use of this waste, addressing technologies such as cogeneration, biodigestion and biofuel production. The methodology adopted consisted of the qualitative analysis of scientific publications, technical standards and institutional documents from the last ten years. The studies reviewed indicate that the adequate treatment of waste can generate thermal and electrical energy efficiently, in addition to reducing environmental impacts. It is concluded that the energy use of waste from the sugar and alcohol sector represents a viable and strategic alternative for the sustainable development of the Brazilian agro-industry.Item Processo de produção de kombucha(2025) Santos, Adriele Silva; Cabral, Mirelle Márcio Santos; Cabral, Mirelle Mácio Santos; Magalhães, Bárbara Elizabeth Alves de; Barbosa, Amaury Franklin BenvindoThis report provides a comprehensive overview of the internship carried out at the company Kombucha Pirá. The objective of this work was to describe the kombucha production process based on the practical experience gained during the internship. It presents the importance of the ingredients used and outlines all stages of production. Through this experience, it was possible to enhance skills in production management, quality control, and product development, effectively linking practical experience with the academic training received in the field of chemistry.Item Uso dos subprodutos da fabricação do açúcar e do etanol em substituição aos fertilizantes(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2023-04-19) Santos, José Wesley dos; Cunha, Simonise Figueiredo Amarante; Cunha, Simonise Figueiredo Amarante; Barbosa, Amaury Franklin Benvindo; Silva, Marina de MagalhãesSugarcane is raw material for the production of sugar and ethanol, where by-products such as filter cake and vinasse are obtained throughout this manufacturing process. By-products are agro-industrial discards, that is, leftover materials that the main process does not need for the final product. In view of the bibliographical review, it was observed that the filter cake and vinasse have nutrients and minerals in their composition that can be applied in sugarcane planting lands to complement and satisfy the needs of the plant for its development when the soil alone does not have all the necessary components for the plant. Because they cause less impact on the environment when used as fertilizer, and are cheaper than industrial fertilizers, these by-products are a good alternative for sugarcane producers who need the properties that these fertilizers have, but who also want to save, therefore, the use of by-products replacing fertilizers are a good alternative for the preservation of the environment, for the plant that produces it and for small producers.
