dc.description.abstractThe article in question, “The Importance of Children’s and Young Adult Stories in the Process of Developing Fluent Readers,” presents a reflection on the relevance of children’s and young adult stories as a way of highlighting the importance of reading through storytelling, reflecting on the methodologies that are effective in the process of developing fluent readers. To this end, we anchored these articles in the following objectives: general objective: to investigate whether children’s and young adult literature and storytelling are crucial points in the development of fluent readers. The specific objectives were thus guided: to identify the methodologies that theorists present for working with children’s and young adult literature stories; to reflect on the training and skills of readers in Elementary School. The relevance of this research is attributed to the crucial role that literary stories play for children and adolescents in developing their reading skills. There are still several problems to be solved in relation to children’s and young adult stories, some of which are resistance to traditional reading, quality and accessibility of material, cultural diversity, and representativeness. Thus, the question is: why is it that this practice, in the classroom of Elementary School II, is not as strong when compared to Early Childhood Education and Elementary School I? The methodology of this research was anchored in a bibliographical research that was based on studies of some theorists, who address the theme, and on the use of paradidactic books such as: “The importance of the act of reading: articles that complement each other”, “Children's and Young Adult Literature”; “The pedagogy of affection in the classroom”; “The uncertain frontiers of young adult literature?”; “The importance of listening to fairy tales”, among others. These works served as subsidies and portray the different conceptions and meanings of the importance of the act of reading that are present in the social environment.
dc.description.resumoO artigo em questão, “A Importância dos Contos Infantojuvenis no Processo de Formação de Leitores Fluentes”, apresenta uma reflexão sobre a relevância dos contos infantojuvenis como forma de pontuar a importância da leitura através da contação de histórias refletindo sobre as metodologias que se apresentam eficazes no processo de formação de leitores fluentes. Para tanto, ancoramos estes artigos nos seguintes objetivos: objetivo geral: investigar se a literatura infantojuvenil e a contação de histórias se apresentam como pontos cruciais na formação do leitor fluente. Já os objetivos específicos foram assim norteados: identificar as metodologias que os teóricos apresentam para trabalhar com os contos da literatura infantojuvenil; refletir sobre a formação e as competências dos leitores no Ensino Fundamental. A relevância desta pesquisa é atribuída ao papel crucial que as histórias literárias apresentam, para crianças e adolescentes, no tocante ao desenvolvimento de suas habilidades de leitura. Ainda há diversos problemas para serem resolvidos em relação aos contos Infantojuvenis, alguns deles são resistência à leitura tradicional, qualidade e acessibilidade de material, diversidade cultural e representatividade. Desta forma, questiona-se: por que razão será que essa prática, em sala do Ensino Fundamental II, não tem tanta força quando comparada à Educação Infantil e ao Ensino Fundamental I? A metodologia desta pesquisa foi ancorada em uma pesquisa bibliográfica baseada em estudos de alguns teóricos, que abordam a temática, e na utilização de livros paradidáticos como: “A importância do ato de ler: artigos que se completam”, “Literatura Infantojuvenil”; “A pedagogia do afeto na sala de aula”; “As fronteiras incertas da literatura... juvenil?”; “A importância de ouvir contos de fadas”, entre outros. Tais obras serviram como subsídios e retratam as diferentes concepções e significados da importância do ato de ler que estão presentes no meio social.
