The topic is relevant because the internship report text genre is a descriptive and analytical exemplification of the relationships between the student in training and the operational reality of their field of work, regardless of the chosen course. These experiences are analyzed by a panel, which, in addition to listening to the reports, verifies the written work and the visual evidence of the tasks performed. This implies considering the internship report from the perspective of Bazerman (2005), who defines it as the social context of communication that converges in the intertwining of social facts. According to Marcuschi, these are the facts that define, for the social group, which practices will be directly aimed at the production of different texts, so that they achieve the final purpose of the communicative act. Methodologically, our analysis is qualitative, using bibliographic research and case analysis, referring to one internship report. In this context, this study aims to analyze the importance of this relationship in the integral formation of students. The research is characterized as bibliographic in nature, based on authors such as Saviani, Frigotto, Libâneo, and Ciavatta. The discussions carried out show that the connection between theoretical knowledge and practical experiences promotes a more dynamic, contextualized, and participatory learning process, in addition to contributing to overcoming fragmented teaching. However, there are still challenges related to traditional teaching practices and the need to strengthen integrative methodologies. Thus, it is concluded that the relationship between theory and practice represents an important element in the education of technical education students.
