However, this return occurs when all inputs are chosen and applied correctly, one of them being the genetic material, which presents different agronomic behaviors based on its degree of adaptation to the conditions of the growing region. The analysis of the agronomic characteristics of different genetic materials allows the indication of which one has the highest productivity. In this sense, the objective of the research was to evaluate the agroeconomic characteristics of corn hybrids for silage in the semiarid region of Alagoas. The experiment was carried out in the experimental field of Federal Institute of Alagoas, Campus Piranhas, in rainfed cultivation, under a randomized block design, with eight treatments and four replications. The treatments were eight corn hybrids (K9555 VIP3, R9080 PRO2, K9822 VIP3, K9606 VIP3, K9510 Conventional, K8774 PRO3, RB9006 PRO2, and 2B587 PW). In the pasty/farinaceous grain stage, the following were evaluated: green and dry mass of leaves, stem, ear, tassel, and total (g plant-1); green and dry mass yields (t ha-1) and dry mass percentage (%). For the economic variables, gross income, net income, rate of return, and profitability index were determined. The hybrid K9555 VIP 3, K9822 VIP 3, and the K9510 Conventional were the group that had the highest plant height. Regarding the number of live leaves, the hybrids K9555 VIP 3 and K9510 Conventional obtained the highest values. Regarding the number of dead leaves, the K9555 VIP 3 and the K9510 Conventional presented the lowest results. For the variable percentage of the dry mass of leaves, the hybrid that reached the highest result was 2B587 PW (43.92 %). The same occurred for the variable percentage of stem dry mass, with 29.13 %, not differing from the hybrid K8774 PRO 3 with 24.77 %. Regarding the percentage of ear dry mass, the 2B587 PW treatment presented the lowest result (24.34 %). The highest average value for dry mass productivity was obtained by the hybrid R9080 PRO 2 with 11.04 t ha-1, but it did not differ statistically from the others, except for the 2B587 PW with 5.62 t ha-1. The 2B587 PW is the least recommended for silage and the K9555 VIP 3 and K9510 Conventional are the most recommended. The total production cost averaged R$ 5,863.51 ha-1. Inputs were the most representative items in the average cost (53.62 %), followed by harvest operations (30.28 %). All hybrids presented equal economic results, but the 2B587 PW hybrid is the least recommended because it has the same production cost, but undesirable agronomic characteristics.Item Uso de telas de sombreamento na produção de cultivares de alface(INSTITUTO FEDERAL DE ALAGOAS - Ifal, 2023-01-25) Gouveia, Fernanda do Nascimento; Souza, Ênio Gomes Flôr; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9225008513028085; Cruz, Ellen Abreu da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8433613370953519; Oliveira, Maria Neurilan Costa Silva de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6518903783252726The lettuce is considered the main leafy vegetable consumed in natura and has great economic importance, however, its cultivation presents some limitations due to edaphoclimatic factors, since, when produced in unfavorable environmental conditions, the plant is induced to precocious sprouting and low quality, thus, the lettuce cannot reach the maximum genetic potential, being necessary the search for techniques to make the production of the plant viable. One alternative is the use of screens to reduce the negative effects of adverse meteorological factors. Therefore, the objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of the use of shading screens on the agronomic viability of the production of lettuce cultivars. The experiment was conducted at the Federal Institute of Alagoas, Campus Piranhas, during the summer of 2022. The experimental design used was the randomized block design in a subdivided plot, with four repetitions. The plots were composed by shading conditions (no shading, 50% black shading and 80% black shading) and the subplots formed by the cultivars Saia Veia (flat), Elba (green-leaf lettuce) and Angelina (iceberg lettuce). The cultivar Saia Veia showed higher values for plant height and diameter, stem diameter, number of leaves and green mass. Saia Veia was the cultivar that showed the best agronomic performance and Angelina showed greater tolerance to plant stretching. Both shading screens (50% and 80%) stimulated the growth of the stem (stretching) and the increase of green mass.
