It is based on this premise that concerns arise about potential threats that may affect them. This paper shows that habitat loss, use of pesticides, diseases, poor nutrition, commercial agriculture, illegal trade in beehives, and light pollution are the main contributors to the advancement of the problem in question. It also presents the possible consequences resulting from the absence of these pollinators, such as the impacts on pollination and agriculture, loss of biodiversity, imbalance in ecosystems, and food and nutritional crises. Finally, the creation and preservation of habitats, regulation and control of pesticide use, monitoring and research on bee health, encouragement of organic agriculture, agroecological practices, environmental education, and public awareness are highlighted as preventive strategies that can be applied in order to circumvent the risk of extinction faced by these insects.
