    Contribuições dos fertilizantes NPK para a produtividade da culturas alimentares no Brasil

    Agribusiness is one of the pillars of the Brazilian economy, placing the country among the world's largest producers and exporters of food. To maintain this performance, it is necessary to continuously increase productivity. Therefore, the use of fertilizers that replenish the macronutrients nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) becomes indispensable to guarantee high yields and quality in agricultural production. The central problem addressed by this research is to understand how fertilization with NPK fertilizers can contribute to increased agricultural productivity in Brazil, while simultaneously promoting sustainable production. In this context, the importance of proper fertilization management is highlighted, considering factors such as soil type, crop, climatic conditions, and technical recommendations, in order to avoid waste and environmental degradation. The analysis of publications allows us to understand the main practices related to the use of NPK fertilizers, their agronomic benefits, as well as the challenges associated with the sustainability of agricultural production in the country. To this end, the study is based on a literature review with a qualitative and exploratory approach, using sources such as books, articles, and journals available in academic databases such as SciELO and Google Scholar. In general, the research shows that the proper use of NPK fertilizers is essential for strengthening Brazilian agriculture, as it allows for a combination of productivity and sustainability. Thus, it concludes that balanced and technically guided fertilization represents a fundamental strategy for the sustainable development of agriculture in Brazil.

    This article presents and discusses the applications and types of fertilizers and fertiliz ers, in addition to reporting their chemical elements, describing the development of the fertilizer industry in Brazil, based on the methodology used to prepare this work. In this regard, we can see the great importance and fundamental role that fertilizers have for agribusiness, and are also extremely important for soils and plants that absorb nutri ents through their roots, such as (NPK) Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium, the ab sence of these nutrients in the soil, causes serious problems for plants and soil, which can become infertile. However, there are not only these nutrients, but there are also macronutrients and micronutrients present in the soil, playing a fundamental role. Con cluding, the great importance of these compounds for soil enrichment and plant devel opment.
