    This study aims to present theoretical and methodological notes on literature review in the context of bibliographic research, based on two manuals—one on bibliographic review and the other on scientific production. It is a qualitative research study, developed through a literature review, according to the assumptions of Antônio Carlos Gil (2007), who defines bibliographic research as a fundamental step in the construction of scientific knowledge. The theoretical framework also relies on Gaio, Carvalho and Simões (2008), Botelho, Cunha and Macedo (2011), and Koller, Couto and Hohendorff (2014), who discuss methods, techniques, and typologies of literature review. The results show that the elaboration of scientific works requires the completion of several stages, such as delimiting the topic, defining search strategies, carefully selecting sources, and using databases that ensure reliable evidence. It is concluded that literature review is indispensable to guarantee methodological rigor, theoretical consistency, and quality in scientific production.
