The sugar and ethanol industry has a prominent place in the Brazilian economy, because of that, Brazil is responsible for generating a large volume of waste. About 5 to 12 million tons per year of bagasse are produced due to the production of sugar and ethanol. All this may become an environmental pollutant if residues are improperly disposed of. Therefore, it is valid the effort for new alternatives of use for these residues. In this context, second-generation ethanol (2G) has proved to be an attractive alternative, since it has environmental advantages, as it is produced from lignocellulosic residues. Thus, the aim of this work is to present, through a literature review, the potential of bagasse of sugarcane to obtain 2G ethanol, describing all stages of the production process. For this, a search was made on websites, scientific articles found on Google Scholar, as well as monographs, dissertations and theses

Currently the search for sustainable alternatives to minimize the environmental impacts environment impacts generated by cement production is growing every day with the increase of new technologies and science. The cement in question is a fine powder with binding properties or binders, whose raw material is limestone and clay cement is also a product of high durability when mixed with gravel and sand resulting in an important product for construction being the concrete. concrete is the most used material in the world being second only to water and is also responsible for part of the country's economy due to its large national and international consumption, so with the extraction of raw materials and cement production are generated negative impacts on the environment as the emission of CO2. For each ton of cement manufactured about 700kg of carbon oxide are emitted into the atmosphere during the production process. With the advancement of technology and industrial development, sustainable techniques were created to minimize these impacts, such as the addition of minerals to cement. The addition of minerals is a possible viable solution to reduce CO2 emissions, because it reduces the amount of clinker used in the manufacture of cement, such as the addition of sugar cane bagasse ash, which has a high polyozone content and can be applied as a partial substitute for cement. It is noteworthy that the concretes produced from the partial replacement of cement can present better characteristics than ordinary concrete, such as durability and stiffness, so based on a comparative study of the works of different authors it is possible to verify that in addition to minimizing the emission of pollutants, it is also a quality alternative to cement that results in a product that is rapidly gaining the industrial market in Brazil.

The sugar-alcohol industry has historically been an important Brazilian economic activity - it is estimated that today it corresponds to around 2% of the national GDP. However, alongside this economic abundance, there is one of the most precarious work activities still in force: the manual cutting of sugar cane. Normally, such activities are developed in the midst of serious problems in the work environment, which ends up vigorously affecting the health of each worker, whether physically or mentally. In view of the above, the main objective of the current work was to present in detail the adversities of the manual sugarcane cutting sector. Using a bibliographic survey, the research highlighted the main labor problems in the sugarcane cutting sector, in the context of the history of the use of sugarcane in Brazil as a raw material of great economic importance. The research results point to the ratification of the economic importance of the sugar and alcohol industry, but above all to the precarious working conditions in the manual cutting sector. Based on current literature, possible proposals for labor improvements for the manual sugarcane cutting sector were also presented. In conclusion, it became clear during the research that, even after 134 years of the end of slavery in Brazil, there are still situations similar to slave labor, with the manual sugarcane cutting sector being a very prone activity to such types of situations.

In Brazil, the sugar-energy industry plays an important role in the economy, as it is responsible for 2% of the Brazilian GDP. Among the products made available by this industry are sugar and ethanol. To obtain these products, it is necessary to extract the juice from sugarcane (the main raw material), which takes place in the milling stage. The materials from which the mill components are made must have some characteristics to make the milling process efficient. Studies on alternative materials are being carried out in order to reduce costs in the maintenance stages. One of the materials analyzed is Steel-Hardox, which has a positive cost-benefit ratio, as it has the characteristic of extending its useful life. This article aims to study and present the benefits attributed to the application of Hardox steel in the construction of mills where the use of Hardox steel demonstrates that it has the potential to cause a reduction in downtime for maintenance, contributing to a positive cost-benefit relationship, since that with fewer stops there is a reduction in production costs.

With the interest of having a method capable of producing more ethanol without the need to increase the sugarcane plantation area, a production technique was developed from sugarcane biomass (bagasse and straw, composed of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin), and its product is called second-generation ethanol (E2G). However, from the conventional steps present in the production of first-generation ethanol, in this technique it is necessary to add two processing steps (pre-treatment and hydrolysis of the biomass). The present study aimed to study the E2G production method from the literature review. It was verified that this new ethanol production technology brings advantages, such as: reduction of carbon dioxide emission, producing more ethanol without increasing the planted area, fuel with high yield, among others; There are also disadvantages, namely: increased cost due to the addition of two process steps, need for skilled labor, lack of incentives for research, etc. Despite the challenges, this new production method of E2G was implemented by the GranBio plant, located in the municipality of São Miguel dos Campos/AL, which at the end of the process delivers an advanced, clean ethanol that does not compete with the food industry, implying which, despite not being a common method for all mills, is a viable option that delivers a quality product.

Simulation within the industry consists of defining, thinking about formulating, developing a functional specification, which cannot be applied in different situations. This work presents, through a literature review, the importance of simulation for the sugar and ethanol industry and addresses points for this industry, with an increasingly fierce confrontation by the productive sector in the globalized market. The method can be a powerful ally, including many automation and control benefits of all methods of global leveling up and expansion in efficiency parameters. A complete automated system generates a high degree of investment, but provides long-term benefits. It appears that most of the tools produced have already adopted alternative methods of using resources, equipment and planning and process control needs aimed at optimizing processes and products. It is expected that the method will be formalized within the sugar-alcohol industry, so that the procedures and processes are systematized in the manipulation and transformation of, helping to strengthen the production planning manipulation methods, decisions in the information manipulation process work tool option.

Sugarcane contributes to the Brazilian economy (NACHILUK, 2021), so, for the producer to obtain a quality cane, it is necessary that each stage of cultivation be done correctly. Given this bias, this study aims to review these steps, from planting to harvesting, providing information on the best paths that should be taken so that there is a quality final product and greater productivity through a literature review. At the end of it, it was possible to show that for a good result it is necessary to respect the recommendations made, from the moment of soil correction, to the choice of the harvesting system. In addition, such choices interfere with the sustainability of the sugarcane activity, since manual harvesting requires the burning of sugarcane straw, which causes the release of polluting gases, which contribute to the greenhouse effect.

With the constant oil crises, the high prices and the possibility of its depletion, added to the many negative effects on the environment, the interest in alternative energy sources that are environmentally advantageous has increased. Thus, the possibility arises of producing second- generation ethanol as an alternative to fossil fuels, since it is produced from lignocellulosic biomass (sugarcane, corn and beet residues, among others). In addition to being very attractive for the diversification of the energy matrix and for the prevention of the environment, it presents solutions to problems such as the need to increase the fuels production without increase the planted area and also reduces competition with food production. The use of lignocellulosic materials requires a pre-treatment in order to separate their fractions (cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin) to obtain a greater recovery of sugars, aiming at efficiency and productivity in the fermentation process. Therefore, this work seeks to analyze, through a literature review, the sustainability of 2G ethanol, which still needs greater investment in research to improve its efficiency and productivity, it can be concluded that Brazil has great potential for the production of this biofuel.

Ethanol is the most used renewable biofuel in Brazil, being considered the cleanest fuel when compared to gasoline. Like gasoline, ethanol emits gases, but in a smaller proportion. In such a way, reducing environmental impacts and consequences for human life. However, in the production of first-generation (E1G) and secondgeneration (E2G) ethanol, the raw materials that stand out in Brazil are, respectively, sugarcane and its residues, which are bagasse and cane straw. Unlike the conventional process (E1G), the production of second-generation ethanol require more technology, as additional steps are implemented in the process, such as pretreatment and hydrolysis of biomass, in order to obtain ethanol with high quality and productivity. Therefore, it can be concluded that ethanol is an alternative to reduce environmental impacts and contribute to the country's economy. Thus, the objective of this work is to describe the production process of second-generation ethanol (E2G) by means of reading scientific articles, monographs and reliable websites. It can be concluded that bagasse is a high-value residue, which can be reused by the sugaralcohol industries to generate other products, such as second-generation ethanol (E2G) and electricity, without the need to expand the area of sugarcane plantations.
