Quality control is an essential component to ensure the safety, standardization, and compliance of food products in the food industry. This article aims to analyze the importance of quality control in this sector, focusing on contamination prevention, compliance with sanitary regulations, and consumer satisfaction. It is a bibliographic, qualitative research based on the review of scientific articles, technical standards, and regulations related to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system. The findings show that the effective implementation of these tools significantly contributes to food safety, brand credibility, and industry competitiveness. It is concluded that quality control should be regarded as a strategic investment, essential for the sustainable and responsible development of the food industry.

    A química dos óleos essenciais
(2025) Barreto, Neyse Natália dos Santos; Chaves, Taciana Carneiro; Chaves, Taciana Carneiro; Gois, Georgia Nayane Silva Belo; Silva, Marina de Magalhães
This article aims to analyze essential oils, volatile compounds rich in terpenes and phenols, highlighting their multiple applications and quality challenges. Considering their relevance in aromatherapy, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, agriculture, and food products, the study demonstrates how environmental factors, plant parts used, and extraction methods directly influence their properties. For this, a literature review was carried out using books, undergraduate theses, dissertations, doctoral theses, and articles available on academic platforms such as Science Direct, Scopus, Scielo, and Google Scholar. The analysis highlights the importance of quality control through techniques like GC-MS to ensure purity and safety, particularly in therapeutic applications. Although Brazil faces challenges in standardizing this market, the growing demand for natural products is driving the adoption of stricter regulations. It is concluded that the full use of the sustainable potential of essential oils depends on the integration between scientific research, technological development, and appropriate regulatory frameworks, aiming for safe and effective applications in various sectors.

Potencial energético dos resíduos gerados no setor sucroalcooleiro: uma revisão bibliográfica
(2025) Santos, Vanessa Gonzaga; Gois, Georgia Nayane Silva Belo; Gois, Georgia Nayane Silva Belo; Barbosa, Amaury Franklin Benvindo; Souza, Felipe Thiago Caldeira de
The sugar and alcohol sector, responsible for the production of sugar and alcohol, generates large volumes of agro-industrial waste, such as bagasse, straw and vinasse. These byproducts, when properly treated and reused, have high energy potential, contributing to the sustainability of the sector and to the diversification of the national energy matrix. This article presents a bibliographic review on the main forms of energy use of this waste, addressing technologies such as cogeneration, biodigestion and biofuel production. The methodology adopted consisted of the qualitative analysis of scientific publications, technical standards and institutional documents from the last ten years. The studies reviewed indicate that the adequate treatment of waste can generate thermal and electrical energy efficiently, in addition to reducing environmental impacts. It is concluded that the energy use of waste from the sugar and alcohol sector represents a viable and strategic alternative for the sustainable development of the Brazilian agro-industry.

Processo de fabricação de chá fermentado não alcóolico - Unidade Kombucha Pirá
(2025) Santos, Alessandra; Cabral, Mirelle Márcio Santos; Cabral, Mirelle Márcio Santos; Cunha, Simonise Figureiredo Amarante; Gois, Georgia Nayane Silva Belo
Kombucha is a non-alcoholic beverage that has been gaining ground in the Brazilian market, mainly due to its health benefits. This study aimed to describe the production process of fermented tea, called kombucha, based on the internship carried out at the Kombucha Pirá company, located in the city of Penedo - AL. The process steps are described in detail, showing the importance of each one in obtaining a quality beverage. The main operational parameters used in the process are also presented. After completing the internship, it was possible to connect the theoretical definitions learned in the classroom with the routine operations of a beverage factory.

Concern about environmental issues has become increasingly clear, leading to the search for new clean and sustainable technologies. Due to this, studies on renewable energy sources stand out, with biogas production as a prominent representative of a renewable source in the country. Agricultural waste stands out, such as peels, juices and fibers as well as effluents from animal production, cattle, pigs and poultry. The combination can represent a source of favorable raw material for the anaerobic digestion process. In this context, studies are emerging on a promising alternative to increase the production of a clean energy source, the production of biogas from anaerobic processes. In view of the above, the objective of this work was to carry out a bibliographical study on the use of agricultural and agro-industrial residues in the production of biogas, exploring the conceptual bases that underlie the study, in search of clarifications, consensus, divergences and gaps. Finally, a roadmap was prepared, with the aim of training students on the environmental technical course to develop biogas production.
