The present work aims to develop an interdisciplinary didactic sequence to be applied in
classes in the 7th year of elementary school, in the subjects of Science and Geography,
with a focus on raising awareness for the preservation of the Riparian Forest of the
Escorrega River, in the District of Luziápolis- Campo Alegre - AL. The river provides
water used by the local population, for supplying homes, leisure, agricultural irrigation,
among others. Considering its socio-environmental importance, environmental education
in schools focused on this preservation reality is necessary, using the experience of the
school community to highlight the importance of the river.
