Título.https://repositorio.ifal.edu.br/handle/123456789/3012This report describes the construction and application of a manipulable cartesian plane as a concrete pedagogical resource, using low-cost materials to support the teaching of linear function, area calculation of plane figures, and graphical representation. The proposal was applied in a school context with elementary school students preparing to enter the Federal Institute, based on active methodologies and meaningful learning, as an alternative to the traditional approach centered on memorizing formulas. The process was structured in three stages: (i) theoretical introduction, (ii) collaborative construction of the Cartesian plane, and (iii) manipulation of the material in problem-solving activities. The results indicated improvements in spatial and algebraic understanding, increased student engagement, and the development of autonomy, in addition to valuing collaborative learning.
