The research adopts a qualitative approach through a case study, allowing for an in-depth analysis of the practical experiences provided by the program and its impacts on the academic and professional development of participants. The literature review and document analysis contextualize the importance of internships, particularly in light of Law No. 11.788/2008. The study reveals that the program not only enhances students' competencies but also serves as essential financial support, highlighting the need for public policies that ensure meaningful internship experiences and effective communication about these opportunities. Despite the positive results of the Pontapé Program, the identified criticisms offer valuable opportunities for improvement. Addressing expectations for implementation, increasing outreach, and reviewing the workload can enhance the benefits and enrich the participants' experience. Feedback from interns is crucial for the program's evolution, ensuring that it meets their needs and contributes to their professional development. Furthermore, the curricular internship not only promotes the acquisition of practical skills but also fosters a critical perspective on public service. This experience enables students to understand organizational structures and the social implications of their actions, preparing them to be agents of change in their communities and contributing to a more efficient and ethical public administration.
