It is also known that crime is not a recent phenomenon, requiring efficient and effective planning on the part of public sector managers. Public Security, it is important to move away from the bureaucratic model to manage public affairs, integrating all actors and institutions that seek to provide a better service to society. The objective of this study is to evaluate the Management of the Public Security Secretariat of the State of Alagoas (SSP AL) in the period from 2021 to 2023 with a focus on reducing Lethal and Intentional Violent Crimes (CVLI's) in the municipality of Maceió- Alagoas. To meet the objectives of this study, bibliographical and documentary research was carried out, using books, articles, reports and statistical data from the Criminal Statistics and Analysis Center of the Public Security Secretariat of Alagoas (NEAC/SSP-AL), and the Yearbooks Brazilian Public Security System, as well as the application of a questionnaire answered by 56 (fifty-six) permanent employees who are members of the various institutions that make up the local Unified Public Security System.
