In response, state governments implemented measures to mitigate the crisis, including financial aid, tax incentives and online commerce platforms. The present study aims to analyze the measures adopted by the government of Alagoas to reduce the economic impacts resulting from social distancing during the Pandemic, with a focus on public policies. The mapping of state public policies aimed at combating the economic effects of the Pandemic shows that the state of Alagoas was a pioneer in implementing policies to support artisans, micro and small businesses and has the largest number of public policies on this topic. The state demonstrated resilience in collecting ICMS. Compared to other states, Alagoas stood out for its proactivity and specific measures for local sectors. However, challenges such as per capita income and unemployment persist, requiring continued public policies to promote the state's economic and social development.
