This work was necessary to analyze the practice of environmental crimes in environmental protection areas (APA). Its objective was to analyze the commission of crimes in the last 3 (three) years in the APA of Marituba do Peixe in Penedo/Alagoas. This analysis was carried out using data made available by the Penedo/AL Regional Police Station, the Environmental Institute (IMA) and the Environmental Police Battalion, as well as the practice of environmental education in that location. A bibliographical analysis was carried out as it deals with material accessible to the public, laws, government websites, and the management plan of the aforementioned APA.
