Thus, in order to mitigate this problem, this work carried out an intervention with the students of the 2nd year of the technical course in Network of the Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL) and showed the importance of using the concept of Cellular Automata (CA) in the interdisciplinarity of content involving mathematics. In this circumstance, this work also presented the students with a CA simulator, the AutomatoLab, which made it possible for them to perform tests in the simulator and respond to a qualitative survey about the tool and the use of CAs.
