Playfulness in education becomes significant in helping children's performance, and education professionals have extensive knowledge about the importance of playfulness as a key element in the learning process. In this work, playfulness is an efficient pedagogical tool for the teaching and learning process in early childhood education, as this mechanism brings immeasurable benefits to the development and performance of children, making them more creative, autonomous and happy. By using games, playful activities and games, teachers as mediators are able to attract children's attention and interest to ensure that performance and learning is more meaningful and fun. The study is characterized as a bibliographical research, in which the primary purpose is to understand the importance of playfulness in the context of early childhood education. This approach is characterized by qualitative methodology, aimed at obtaining and analyzing the concept of playfulness in more detail.
