One of the technologies used to increase its productive capacity is the use of supplementary irrigation. With this, the objective was to evaluate the agroeconomic characteristics of the cultivated forage cactus genotypes (Orelha de Elefante Mexicana and Miúda), and thus to determine which one had more productivity and profitability. The experiment was carried out on a rural property in the municipality of Piranhas-AL. The experiment was carried out in randomized blocks with 4 replications in the split-plot scheme, with the plot consisting of five saline water replacement depths: L1 = 0 mm/month, 7,5 mm/month, 15 mm/month, 22, 5 mm/month and 30 mm/month, these blades being divided into three monthly applications, and the subplot composed of the two varieties of palm (Orelha de Elefante Mexicana and Miúda). The irrigation system used was located with drip tapes. The following characteristics were evaluated: Green plant mass (kg); green mass productivity (Mg/ha), dry matter percentage (%), water use efficiency (kg/mm/ha) and profitability (R$/ha/year). The best productive characteristics and water use efficiency were obtained with the water depth of 15 mm/month and for the variety Orelha de Elefante Mexicana. The highest production cost occurred when both varieties were irrigated with brackish water at 30mm/month. The Orelha de Elefante Mexicana has better profitability rates, regardless of irrigation.
