2025-08-202025-08-202025-03-27https://repositorio.ifal.edu.br/handle/123456789/1152Situated in the field of Indisciplinary Applied Linguistics (Moita Lopes, 2006), the general objective of this work is to critically interpret the discursive processes mobilized in women's comments about international women trafficking, from the "Surviving in Turkey" channel on the YouTube social network. From this general objective, two specific objectives arise: i) to identify and classify the indexical processes at play in the analyzed comments; and ii) to map the discursive repertoires mobilized in the comments and how they point to broader social values, beliefs, and norms, such as those of gender. In theoretical terms, the work is based on performative and indexical conceptions of language (Austin, 1990; Silverstein, 2003; Blommaert, 2010) and gender (Butler, 2018), on intersectional studies on sexual work and international trafficking in persons (Piscitelli, 2016; Biroli, 2018; Souza; Soares, 2018), as well as on studies of the feminist movement and its digital aspect (Ferreira, 2015; Alvarez, 2014). From a methodological point of view, data generation was carried out through a digital ethnography, of a non-participant nature, undertaken between September 2024 and March 2025, on the channel in question. The critical interpretation of the ethnographic data generated in the research made it possible to identify the emergence of different feminist repertoires in the interactions on international women trafficking, namely: i) contestation of the patriarchal and reproductive model imposed on women; ii) intersectional production of gender-based vulnerability; and iii) sorority and collective action of women in situations of violence and exploitation. In general terms, the research carried out points to the articulation between situated interaction practices and broader social processes, highlighting the procedural construction of a critical perspective on gender violence guided by different feminist repertoires.
