In this context, this study aims to analyze the production process of sugarcane ethanol, addressing its industrial stages, relevance in the energy matrix, and related commercial and environmental impacts. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach, with an exploratory and bibliographic character, based on scientific sources collected from books, articles, and academic databases such as Google Scholar, SciELO, and CAPES journals. The results demonstrate that sugarcane ethanol not only contributes to energy diversification but also consolidates itself as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels, reinforcing Brazil’s role as a global leader in the production and commercialization of biofuels.ptEtanolCana-de-açúcarBiocombustíveisSustentabilidadeSetor sucroenergético.
