2026-02-122026-02-122022-12-13https://repositorio.ifal.edu.br/handle/123456789/1383The semi-arid region is known for low rainfall, making the population hostage to public coexistence policies, one of the alternatives is the drilling of artesian wells, but its problem is the quality of these waters.The research aimed to carry out a zoning of the primary quality of groundwater in the region of Piranhas-AL and to elaborate a digital map with agricultural technical recommendations for the adequate and sustainable use of these waters in the region, thus encouraging the execution of public policies for family farming. With the support of the municipality's secretary of agriculture, it was possible to georeference and collect water samples on properties where there are already built artesian wells, in order to have a database on the basic quality and potential of groundwater in the area. region. The analyzes of the water samples were carried out at the Laboratory of Soil Fertility and Mineral Nutrition of Plants at IFAL – Campus Piranhas, where the following variables were evaluated: pH and electrical conductivity. The data were transferred to a database and used to create a geoprocessed image. The water from the evaluated wells was above the electrical conductivity limit (CEa) classified as C3 (0.75 to 2.25 dS m-1 ). Regarding the electrical conductivity level for shrimp farming (shrimp farming), all wells were favorable for this activity. And for the cultivation of tilapia (tilap culture), of the 31 wells evaluated, only 6 had electrical conductivity of the water above the maximum recommended value (11.38 dS m-1 ). As for the pH variable, in all wells the water remained close to neutrality, not interfering with the quality of the water. The map and the collections carried out served as a basis for the municipality to formulate strategies for better use of water from wells already drilled, such as the installation of desalination systems, drainage systems, cultivation of plants resistant to salinity, installation of fish farming tanks.
