The general objective of this research was to analyze the contributions of an instructional didactic proposal on the Socioscientific Issue (SSI) of racism for students, considering the formative and reflective potential of this approach within the context of Professional and Technological Education. It was guided by the following question: how can an instructional didactic proposal be developed, using the Socioscientific Issue (SSI) of racism as a generative theme, based on the content of Cellular Biochemistry? This research was carried out at the Federal Institute of Alagoas, Batalha campus, with first-year students from the Integrated Technical Courses in Biotechnology and Agroindustry. It is a basic, qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory study developed in five phases: (1) bibliographic and documentary research; (2) diagnostic evaluation; (3) implementation of the educational product (didactic sequence); (4) final evaluation; and (5) analysis of results. The results showed that racism manifests itself both explicitly and in a structural and subtle manner, through the absence of Black representation in teaching materials, the scarcity of positive references in fields such as science, politics, and literature, the reproduction of stereotypes, and the difficulty of connecting school content with racial issues. Although students show interest in combating racism, their proposals remain limited to generic solutions, highlighting the need to expand critical educational actions that foster awareness, dialogue, and appreciation of Afro-Brazilian culture. It is considered that the didactic proposal (educational product) developed in this research proved to be an effective tool for teaching ethnic-racial relations, contributing to comprehensive education and to the promotion of antiracist education. Furthermore, the development of this educational product constitutes a replicable strategy for teachers to promote the appreciation of ethnic diversity and to meet students’ demand for positive references in this area.ptAttribution 3.0 BrazilEducaçãoSequência DidáticaEducação AntirracistaDiversidade ÉtnicaQuestão SociocientíficaTeaching SequenceSocioscientific IssueAnti-racist EducationEthnic DiversityProposta didática sobre o tema racismo enquanto questão sociocientífica para os cursos técnicos integrado ao ensino médioDissertaçãoCIENCIAS HUMANAS
