    Rotation quaternions are a mathematical tool used to represent 3D rotations and can be compared to complex numbers, but with an extra dimension. They possess useful properties such as the ability to describe rotations around any axis and the ability to combine rotations using multiplication. Therefore, they are widely used in applications such as computer games, animation, and robotics. In this work, we will provide an introduction to rotation quaternions, how they are similar to complex numbers, and how they can be used in rotation calculations.
