Among the available alternatives, rainwater harvesting stands out for reducing treated water consumption and mitigating environmental impacts associated with surface runoff in urban areas. In this context, this study aims to analyze the technical and economic feasibility of implementing a rainwater harvesting, treatment and reuse system in the Informatics Building of the Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL) – Maceió Campus, primarily intended for replenishing the institution’s swimming pool. The research was structured based on the collection and analysis of regional rainfall data, estimation of the swimming pool water demand, characterization of the roof catchment area and application of design parameters defined by standards. Based on these inputs, the storage volume was sized, first-flush diversion criteria were defined, implementation and operation costs were estimated and an economic feasibility analysis was carried out using engineering economy indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and payback period. The results show that the proposed system can supply approximately 17.02% of the annual pool demand, reducing potable water consumption from the public utility and yielding a positive NPV, an IRR higher than the minimum attractive rate and a payback shorter than one year, which characterizes the proposal as technically and economically feasible for the analyzed context.Item Análise de custo de edificações residenciais com placas cimentícias com pérolas de EPS e alvenaria comum utilizando o BIM(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2026-03-25) Santos, Jennifer Ataide dos; Costa, Esdras Jonathan Honorato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6045970740812728; Limeira, Uziel Ribeiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2469128647529432; Almeida, Thamyrys Morgana Pontes de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8249520310546287This study presents a comparative analysis between the Lightwall construction system and conventional masonry applied to a small-scale residential building, focusing on execution costs and productivity. Through Building Information Modeling (BIM), accurate quantity takeoffs were obtained, enabling a detailed economic assessment of both construction methods. The results reveal significant differences between the analyzed systems. Although the Lightwall system presents higher material costs, its increased productivity and substantial reduction in labor demand resulted in an overall cost approximately 27.96% lower than that of conventional masonry. Furthermore, the execution time was considerably reduced, with a decrease of about 84.13%, highlighting the potential of the industrialized system in optimizing construction schedules. Based on these findings, the study indicates that the Lightwall system is an economically competitive alternative, particularly in scenarios that require faster construction processes. In this context, the research contributes to the discussion on the adoption of industrialized construction systems in Brazil, encouraging a broader perspective in decision-making within the construction sector.Item Os impactos da gestão da qualidade na construção civil e seus métodos de implantação(Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia de Alagoas, 2026-03-27) Santos, Pedro Henrique Leandro dos; Doria, Marden Vergetti Cardoso; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5333357944285315; Costa, Esdras Jonathan Honorato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6045970740812728; Carvalho, Taíse Monique de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3638807736725706This work aims to identify the impacts of quality management in civil construction in projects carried out in the city of Maceió, state of Alagoas, and its implementation methods. The qualitative research consisted of a case study with four medium and large-sized construction companies, using semi-structured interviews with managers, analyzed through Bardin's Content Analysis technique. The theoretical framework is based on the PDCA Cycle, Lean Construction, ISO 9001, and PBQP-H. The results demonstrate unanimously that maintaining the quality management system is more difficult than implementing it, and that there are operational barriers due to workforce resistance. However, it significantly reduces operational costs, waste, and the need for post-delivery technical assistance. Furthermore, it requires a strong commitment from top management, continuous on-site training, and, primarily, the transition from physical documentary bureaucracy to digital cloud computing systems.
