Data were collected for characterization of the participating subject as well as regional methods and customs for animal husbandry (cattle, goats, pigs, chickens, teals, rabbits, horses, dogs and cats). Participating subjects had an average age of 40-50 years and a balanced number of men and women, most of them illiterate or with low education with current or past activity related to agriculture or animal husbandry. Knowledge is fundamentally of traditional origin and is still frequently applied today, but if not registered there is a risk that knowledge will be lost in the face of scientific tests. The most common knowledge was the use of medicines of plant origin and the use of prayers and prayers (still persisting superstitions in supernatural beings such as the redneck and the like). In animals, treatment occurs in skin wounds and worms. The application of this knowledge can contribute to the appreciation of empirical knowledge still in use in these rural communities and pass on mainly to students of technical courses in the field of Agrarian Sciences.
