Item Avaliação da qualidade da água das nascentes utilizada pelos moradores do povoado brejo dos vieira - União dos Palmares-AL(INSTITUTO FEDERAL DE ALAGOAS - Ifal, 2025-03-10) Silva, Eri Johnson Correia da; Silva, Dário Luiz Nicácio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1506941694331741; Bastos, Adelmo Lima; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6186-8856; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6125212623471598; Gama, José Aparecido da Silva; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9082-6564; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7413041757828843Water is a natural resource essential for the maintenance of nature and its ecosystems, highlighting its role in agriculture, industry, energy generation and preservation of the health of living beings. In Brazil, water analysis is regulated by Ordinance No. 2,914/2011 of the Ministry of Health, establishing permitted limits for human consumption. Many rural springs lack appropriate treatment, presenting high levels of contamination by pesticides, heavy metals and other pollutants. This study analyzed water from springs in the village of Brejo dos Vieiras, a rural area of the municipality of União dos Palmares in Alagoas, aiming to identify the quality of water in the region, proposing measures for the preservation and recovery of water resources used by the local population. The methodology of the National Health Foundation was adopted for collection and physical-chemical analysis of the samples. The parameters analyzed were: Hydrogen Potential (pH), Electrical Conductivity (EC), Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and presence of Chlorine, measured at 25oC. The analyses demonstrate fluctuations in pH, EC, DO and chlorine values among the different springs over time, which can be justified by the biogeochemical characteristics of the aquifers analyzed. The values obtained were in accordance with the standards established in Ordinance 2,914/2011; in Consolidation Ordinance No. 5/2017 and in CONAMA resolution No. 357/2005, suggesting that the water supplying the rural properties studied is within potability standards. However, it is crucial to carry out new long-term studies that allow a careful assessment of the quality of the water consumed in the region. There were no complaints regarding the supply (quantity) and quality of the water consumed, indicating efficient control and balanced distribution of water resources in the village. It is essential to emphasize that environmental and anthropogenic factors can cause changes in the quality standards of the springs. It is essential that the community maintains constant vigilance and preserves these water sources, ensuring the availability and health of these resources for future generations of the Brejo dos Vieras Village.
