    This study delved into investigating the importance of children's and young adult literature in shaping critical readers. By addressing the need to understand how literature aimed at young audiences contributes to cognitive and emotional development, this research situates itself within the educational context, aiming to explore how children's and young adult literature can effectively promote critical reading among youth. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was adopted. The findings underscored the crucial role of children's and young adult literature as a mediator in identity construction and in fostering critical reflection among young readers. The study emphasizes the urgent need for more effective integration of literary works into educational environments, recognizing their transformative potential in contemporary society. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of fostering critical reading from childhood, acknowledging literature as an essential ally in shaping reflective and conscientious individuals. ––With theoretical contributions from Rildo Cosson, Bernard Charlot, Lígia Cademartori, Regina Zilberman, and Marisa Lajolo, this understanding reinforces the significance of valuing and integrating children and young adult’s literature into pedagogical practices, thereby contributing to the holistic development of emerging readers.

    Afro-Brazilian female literature has consolidated itself as a space of resistance for black women in Brazilian society. The present study analyzes literature written by black Brazilian women in order to understand how black female writing has consolidated itself as a means of resistance, struggle and voice for a people, a nation. For the purposes of the study, a qualitative approach was used, discursively analyzing the narratives printed in the literature of Conceição Evaristo, Carolina Maria de Jesus and Bianca Santana, in addition to other bibliographic references written by black women. From the readings and analyses, we understand that the writing of black women in Brazilian literature has been consolidated as a way of resignifying, resisting and denouncing the violence suffered and erasing the history and culture of a nation.

    focusing on the analysis of textual genres. Specifically, it examines the writing of the National High School Exam (Enem), which requires the production of a dissertative-argumentative text. In view of this, it becomes essential to access common places (topoi), which are essential to structure the argumentation based on its categories. This study is situated in the area of Textual Linguistics, since this sphere of knowledge contemplates the exposed theme, promotes the teaching-learning process within the scope of Portuguese Language, thus, it is intended to explore the nuances of the text from the perspective of language, and how realities are constructed from discourse. The research aimed to analyze the occurrence of rhetorical spaces in Enem 2023 essays, considering three levels: elementary, intermediate, and excellence. For this, we used the essay mirrors of participants from a public school in Maceió, in addition to an excellent essay, obtained on the Web. It is noteworthy that, in Alagoas, during the period evaluated, there were no essays classified as a thousand, which is why the excellent essay was sought on the network. Therefore, the research is qualitative in nature and is characterized as documentary. Thus, its systematization follows a linguistic-interpretative approach. The phenomenon in question made it possible to analyze how the rhetorical elements strengthened the arguments that supported the thesis. The results indicate that the rhetorical spaces occupied in the Enem essay are relevant, since they strengthened the arguments and contributed to persuasion, therefore, in a positive evaluation of the skills required in this genre. Finally, the use of topoi proved to be efficient in argumentation, discursiveness, especially in textual construction.
