    Oportunidades de qualificação na periferia: trajetórias de estudantes da educação de jovens e adultos do bairro do jacintinho em Maceió/AL

    The Jacintinho neighborhood is known for its high levels of violence and informal economy, as well as a young and adult population facing learning difficulties. This research aims to analyze the educational trajectories of students enrolled in the Youth and Adult Education program (EJA) in this neighborhood, located in the city of Maceió, and to examine the professional training opportunities available to this population. A qualitative approach was employed, using bibliographic research, semi-structured interviews conducted with EJA students, and secondary data analysis on professional training in the region. The results indicate that most students pursue EJA as a means to improve their living conditions but face significant challenges due to the lack of vocational courses and employment opportunities in the area. It is concluded that public policies need to be implemented to expand access to professional training and promote the inclusion of these students in the formal labor market.
