But besides that, Machado de Assis achieves a milestone in the history of literature, because her genius that escaped all the standards adopted by romanticism presented in her work makes her considered the founder of realism in Brazil, calling not only the attention of the readers of the time, but also of researchers and readers of the present time, since it is also possible to find many traces of linguistic variation, not only on the part of the bourgeoisie, but also of people from peripheral regions of the country, so it is It is worth mentioning that in the present work the author brings different social levels, representing different discourses formed by them.
