Swimming pools are widely desired construction elements, whether for leisure, health, or real estate appreciation. However, choosing the most suitable construction system requires a thorough analysis of the available options, considering both structural and economic aspects. The study aims to analyze the economic feasibility of constructing buried swimming pools, comparing the construction methods of reinforced concrete and structural masonry, with the purpose of providing information to assist in the decision-making process regarding the construction model to be adopted. Secondary objectives address essential aspects of the study, such as the effects of actions acting on the structure, the applied loads, as well as the geotechnical characteristics of the soil. The study was developed through the creation of an architectural and structural project based on a case study, using CypeCAD software for structural modeling and dimensioning. The calculations followed the current technical standards presented in the bibliographic references, and the direct costs of the construction systems were analyzed through spreadsheets with unit price compositions, considering materials, labor, and equipment. The results indicate that the swimming pool in structural masonry presented a lower final cost compared to the reinforced concrete system, proving to be a more economically viable solution. This finding reinforces the importance of careful selection of the construction method, combining structural safety and economic efficiency. Future perspectives include the consideration of indirect costs and maintenance throughout the structure’s lifespan. The social relevance of the study lies in its contribution to the economic accessibility of swimming pool construction, allowing more people and businesses to opt for financially viable solutions without compromising the structural safety of buildings.
