This study analyzes the practices and results of reverse logistics implemented at Asa Branca Distribuidora, in Arapiraca – AL, within a context of increasing demand for corporate sustainability. Reverse logistics constitutes an essential mechanism for waste management and the reduction of environmental impacts in the distribution sector. The general objective is to analyze the importance of reverse logistics as a strategic tool for promoting environmental sustainability, through a case study conducted at Asa Branca Distribuidora, located in Arapiraca, Alagoas. The methodology adopted consisted of a qualitative and exploratory case study, using document analysis of internal procedures and a literature review on the subject, with emphasis on the National Solid Waste Policy (Law No. 12.305/2010). The results show that the company adopts reverse logistics practices focused mainly on the collection of post-sale materials, motivated by operational efficiency gains and the need for legal compliance. Although these practices contribute to cost reduction and strengthen the institutional image, challenges related to scaling up processes and engaging supply chain partners were identified. It is concluded that reverse logistics at Asa Branca Distribuidora represents a strategic tool with potential for improvement, the optimization of which can expand environmental and competitive benefits. The study reinforces the relevance of applying sustainability policies adapted to the reality of regional distributors.
