Environmental and cultural education constitutes a field of study aimed at promoting sustainability and valuing natural and cultural heritage, thereby fostering a critical understanding of the impacts of human activities on the environment. In this context, ecotourism as a strategy for the preservation of water resources in the Vale dos Pássaros region, located in the Serras Gerais area of Tocantins can be analyzed from a scientific perspective, emphasizing its relevance for the conservation of both hydric and cultural resources. This approach entails the implementation of sustainable practices that respect and preserve the environment while enhancing appreciation of local culture. The research suggests that ecotourism may serve as an effective tool for water resource conservation, since raising visitor awareness regarding the importance of water can lead to increased protection and sustainable use of these resources. Furthermore, environmental education activities can be developed to engage local communities and tourists in the preservation of springs and water sources within the region. Continuous research and collaborative efforts among scholars, residents, and tourists are essential to ensure the success of ecotourism initiatives in the area.
