    This study presents the survey and diagnosis of the drinking water quality of the drinking fountains at the Federal Institute of Alagoas – IFAL, Maceió Campus, through physical-chemical, microbiological, and structural analyses. The parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity, and transmittance were evaluated using standardized laboratory methodologies and compared with the limits established by the Brazilian legislation GM/MS Nº. 888/2021. Microbiological analyses for the detection of total coliforms and Escherichia coli were also conducted to identify possible fecal contamination. In addition, a structural assessment of the drinking fountains was carried out, considering aspects such as use-related wear of the equipment, hygiene conditions, tap integrity, piping, and the surrounding environment, all of which may influence the quality of the water supplied to the academic community. The results made it possible to identify the conformity of the physical-chemical and microbiological parameters with current regulations, as well as to highlight units that require preventive or corrective maintenance. Therefore, this diagnosis provides technical support for continuous improvement actions, contributing to sanitary safety and promoting the health of students and staff at IFAL – Maceió Campus.
